Angamaly is located in the Southwestern corner of India. It is located near a major railway system and airport, which has allowed fast growth for the city. It is surrounded by several villages, which has allowed some commerce to flow into the city. The first church in Angamaly was built in 409, and the city has many other churches that are hundreds of years old. The city also has some factories nearby in surrounding areas.

 

Hemophilia Society - Bangalore Chapter (INBG)

Bangalore is located in southern India and is the capital of Karnataka. It has a population exceeding 10 million, making it the third most populous city in India and giving it a population greater than that of New York City. The city has a large information technology (IT) sector which employs many in the city. With such a densely populated city, many people live in the slums because there is not enough room for everyone to own a house. It is estimated that about 30% of slum housing lacks access to services such as electricity and running water.

 

Hemophilia Society - Bhubaneswar Chapter (INBB)

Bhubaneswar is the capital of the state of Odisha. It is located on the eastern coast of India and has a population of about 800,000. The city has a large tourism industry, as people come to see cricket matches, festivals, and the impressive Hindu temples. Almost everyone in the city works in the service industry, and the city has growing departments in IT and telecommunications. Even with this economic growth, there are still an estimated 11% of people in Bhubaneswar living in slums.

Calicut is located in southwestern India and has a population of just over 500,000. The city has invested into building IT offices that could potentially employ 100,000. The city has a high Hindu and Muslim population, and is also a multi-ethnic city. The city has several shopping malls and Sweetmeat Street, which is a long street with many commercial shops and stalls.

 

Hemophilia Society - Madras Chapter (INCH)

Chennai is located along the southeastern coast of India. With a population of 7 million, it ranks as one of the largest cities in India. It is a very hot city, with a yearly average over 80°F. Chennai has a large tourism industry, as it has beaches, historical sites, and noteworthy temples. Economically, Chennai manufactures automobiles, computers, and other technologies. They also have a large IT sector, and are home to the Madras Stock Exchange.

 

Hemophilia Society - Coimbatore Chapter (INCB)

Coimbatore is located in southern India and has a population of 1.6 million. The surrounding areas have cotton fields, which has allowed Coimbatore to have a large textile industry. They also produce software and automobiles.

 

Hemophilia Society - Davangere Chapter (INDV)

Davangere is located in southern India and has a population of just over 400,000. The city is majority Hindu and has a respectable education system, as the literacy rate is 85%, eleven points above the national average.

 

Hemophilia Society - Delhi Chapter (INDL)

Located in northern India, Delhi is the second most populous city in India with 11 million people. With such a high density of people, Delhi ranks as one of the most polluted cities in the world. The largest industries in the city are telecommunications, IT, and hospitality. Over half of residents live in slums, and many of these slums do not have access to electricity or running water.

Located in eastern India, Durgapur is home to 580,000 residents. The city experiences hot, dry summers with a wet monsoon season followed by a mild, dry winter. Durgapur is one of the most industrialized cities in the region, sporting steel factories throughout.

 

Hemophilia Society - Guwahati Chapter (INGH)

Located in far eastern india, Guwahati has a population of just under 1 million people. The city has one of the highest growth rates in India, and may double in size in the next 10 years. The city has industry in petroleum refining and tea manufacturing. The wildlife in regions near the city includes rhinoceros, elephants, and tigers.

 

Hemophilia Society - Hyderabad Chapter (INHD)

Located towards the center of India, Hyderabad has a population of almost 7 million. The city is home to several famous Bazaar markets. The film industry is also large in Hyderabad, as it is the second largest movie producer in India.

 

Hemophilia Society - Indore Chapter (INID)

Indore is located in central India and has a population of 2.8 million. The city has a good educational infrastructure, with one of the best Institutes of Technology in the country. Indore also has good management and medical schools.  Due to its centralized location, Indore is somewhat of a hub of industry and also has a powerful banking system.

 

Hemophilia Society - Calcutta Chapter (INKK)

Kolkata is located in eastern India and has a population of about 4.5 million. The city has an important commercial sector and a stock exchange, but about 40% of workers are employed in informal work such as fruit vending. The city is about 75% Hindu and 20% Muslim and about a third of residents live in slums.

Kunnamkulam is located in southwestern India and has a population of about 54,000 people. Economically, its primary industry is production of products such as candles, utensils, and books. The city is known for its religious tolerance and has several notable places of worship.

 

Hemophilia Society - Kanyakumari Chapter (INKR)

Kanyakumari is located at the southernmost tip of India and has a population of about 30,000. The city has a large tourism industry as it has fantastic sunsets and impressive statues and monuments. The Thiruvalluvar Statue stands 95 feet tall and is located out in the harbor.

Lucknow is located in northeastern India and has a population of 2.8 million. The city has industry in automotive, machine tools, aeronautics, and furniture. In agriculture, the nearby farms grow dasheri mangoes, which are famous for originating in the area. Lucknow also has a embroidery style that is only practiced in the city.

Madurai is located in southern India and has a population of 1.5 million people. The city experiences incredibly hot summers, as the average high temperature is about 100°F during the summer months. The city has good soil, so agriculture is a big industry. Other industries include rubber manufacturing, textiles, and granite processing.

Located in southwestern India, Manipal is a town with a population of 34,000 people. The Manipal Academy of Higher Education is located in the town, and it is a school that enrolls 25,000 students each year. On top of being a college town, the Syndicate Bank is headquartered in Manipal.

 

Hemophilia Society - Mumbai Chapter (INMB)

Located on the western coastline of India, Mumbai is the most populated city in the country, with a population of over 12.4 million people. Being the most populous city, Mumbai also generates more money than any other city in India, with industries like finance, IT, and jewelry helping to earn this money. The city is home to the famous Bollywood film industry, which produces most of the films in India. With such a high population, there is little room to house all of the people and it is estimated that 62% of residents live in slums.

 

Hemophilia Society - Nashik Chapter (INNK)

Nashik is located in western India and is the home to almost 1.5 million people. The city is located on a Hindu pilgrimage site and every 12 years, Hindus travel to Nashik to bathe in the Godavari river. Nashik is also home to half of the vineyards in India, as wine production is one of their biggest industries.

Located in southeastern India, Pondicherry has a population of 650,000 people. The city has a large tourism industry as visitors enjoy the historical churches, temples, and statues. Farms near Pondicherry grow crops like rice, cotton, coconut, and sugarcane.

 

Hemophilia Society - Pune Chapter (INPN)

Pune is located in western India and has a population of 3.4 million people. Badminton was invented in Pune and is still a popular sport in the city alongside cricket and soccer. Pune has multiple universities and has automotive industry as well as IT.

 

Hemophilia Society - Rajkot Chapter (INRJ)

Located in western India, Rajkot has a population of 1.4 million people. Economically, the city is home to metal workers, jewelry, embroidery, and other products. Also, before becoming an important Indian activist, Mohandas Gandhi went to high school in Rajkot.

 

Hemophilia Society - Tirunelveli Chapter (INTL)

Located in southern India, Tirunelveli has a population of 470,000 people. The city has industries in wind power, agriculture, tourism, IT, and administration. Culturally, Tirunelveli has a noteworthy Hindu temple and a popular confection that residents enjoy called halwa.
